The COVID-19 outbreak has restricted international travel, halting tourism globally. Thus, travel demand shifted from to domestic destinations. prolonged restriction changed trends and travelers’ behaviors, adversely affecting the industry worldwide. This study attempted understand examine changes in preferences, such as choice of destinations, activities, transportation modes, following outbreak. used primary survey data 200 respondents collected June 2020 secondary by Korea Tourism Organization 2015 2017. also examined role government supporting strategies prepare for post-COVID landscape. analysis showed that pandemic caused travelers favor short-haul destinations where non-contact (socially distanced) is possible. found distributed land strategy can make “untact” a possibility could boost struggling industry.
